Guided Tour of the Newly Redone Clark Kerr Trail
Date and time: Saturday April 8th, 10 a.m.
Leader: Jim Rosenau
Start: At the top of Dwight Way near the Clark Kerr Campus track
Lace up your hiking boots and come explore and admire the recent improvements to Clark Kerr Trail, which begins at the top of Dwight Way and ends on Panoramic Way in Claremont Canyon. (Another branch of the trail meets the Stonewall-Panoramic Trail, which ends higher up on Panoramic Way.) Over the last two years, a neighborhood path-building group called Take To The Hills — with significant help from BPWA volunteers — has transformed this very steep path by widening it, replacing badly eroded and missing steps, and removing obstacles. The Clark Kerr trail is now safer and easier to climb than ever. Jim Roseau, a founder of Take To The Hills, will lead this in-and-out, 1.5 mile hike along the wonderful trail with its spectacular views. Hiking poles will be useful in some of the steeper sections, particularly for the descent.
Please note: This is a Take to the Hills event, not an official BPWA-sponsored walk.
