Bungalows, palaces, and paths: Exploring Oakland's Upper Rockridge

Starting on College Avenue south of the Rockridge BART, this free virtual walk led by Bob Johnson and Janet Byron, co-authors of Berkeley Walks, explores tree-lined streets with diverse early 20th-century Craftsman bungalows, before ascending the hills to see how the area was rejuvenated after the disastrous 1991 fire storm. There will be architecture — including some mansions, flowering trees and gardens, views and yes — lots of fun public stairways to go up and down (virtually)!
