Start/End: 1200 Euclid Ave (in front of the Rose Garden sign) (If you are driving, please allow ample time to find parking. Note that the free parking in front of the Rose Garden is time-limited on Saturdays while the streets nearby have unlimited free parking.
Distance: 8 miles
Accessibility: Strenuous hike, mostly on trails, with an elevation gain of 1,600 feet. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome.

Prepare to sweat and have a great workout as we climb 1,600 feet from Berkeley's Rose Garden to Tilden Park’s Vollmer Peak and then back to the Rose Garden. We will take sidewalks and 5 stairways to get to Tilden, and the rest of the hike will be on the park's trails. We’ll stop at Vollmer Peak to enjoy the view and take a snack and water break.

Meet in front of the Rose Garden at 8:30 am—we will be leaving promptly at 8:35 am! Restrooms are available at the Rose Garden and at the Steam Trains parking lot near Vollmer Peak. Bring water, snacks, and extra layers; it is often windy and cold at the peak.
