Introducing New BPWA Board Members

Nancy Graham (Treasurer) got a degree in textile design from UC Davis, then relocated to Berkeley where she continued her love of exploring on foot. A career in arts management led to accounting and then to becoming a CPA. She worked for several local city-planning firms and a group of rock-climbing gyms before retiring in 2021. Now three days a week she, her husband, and dog, Dinky, get their aerobic exercise by walking uphill and hitting as many paths as possible. She also makes concrete sculptures, which you can check out at www.nwgrahamart.com.

Jen English (Walks Co-coordinator) moved to Berkeley 20 years ago, and soon set a goal of walking every street and path in town. That project introduced her to Berkeley Path Wanderers, and she joined the board in 2008 for her first term. Trained as a librarian, she’s worked for much of her career in search relevance, data quality, and ontology roles for search and software startups. She gets around without a car and is developing a guide to car-free adventures in the Bay Area (https://carfreeoutdoors.wordpress.com/). Jen’s also been learning the ropes of emergency response, taking community emergency management (CERT) courses and other preparedness training. She’s excited to be involved with BPWA again because Berkeley's public paths and stairways are a key component of the city's emergency response network.
