Slow walk - 12 p.m. start: Led by Janet Byron, this leisurely walk around the Elmwood neighborhood includes former homes of the Unabomber, Patty Hearst, Hilary Rodham and Bill Clinton, Ina Cooltbrith, and Richard Diebenkorn, as well as several historic homes. We'll take our time exploring and learn about the neighborhood, and even squeeze in 2 short, step-free paths.
Medium walk - 11 a.m. start: Led by Alina Constantinescu, the 2-hour walk explores the beautiful Uplands neighborhood. The route takes us to a dozen paths, beautiful tree-lined streets, elegant homes, and charming mini-parks.
Long walk - 10 a.m. start: Led by John Ford, this 3-hour walk heads east from Willard Park and then we make our way to the Derby Canyon Steps at the top of Dwight Way. We'll see all the native plants that have been planted by volunteers from Take to the Hills. From the top we'll continue on Panoramic Way to the lower section of the Jordan Trail (aka the Strawberry Canyon fire trail). From there we will skirt the east side of the UC campus and make our way to the La Vereda Steps and our newest path, Hilgard Path. Then we'll make our way to the northwest corner of the campus, cross campus and back to Willard Park. This walk will be a little more than 6 miles with about 900 feet of climbing.
